Here at Twickenham House & Hall, we pride ourselves on our wedding expertise. With 12 years of experience and 2 onsite wedding planners, an amazing 400 acre pristine site and room for up to 50 guests to stay at Twickenham Estate, we are a full service North Carolina wedding and event venue.
The Estate
The Twickenham House estate sits at an elevation of 4,600 feet on a 400-acre site with a fern forest, incredible views and terrain for fabulous pictures, gorgeous sunrises and sunsets with 360-degree long range views, and a cliffside terrace built into a 300-foot cliff face. Phoenix Mountain is known as the Rocky Mountain of the East.
Our location is the perfect outdoor wedding and reception venue, with cool summers averaging 75 degrees, low humidity and no bugs, and amazing fall colors. We have a pond stocked with bass and trout, streams with native trout, and gardens growing with flowers and herbs, flower beds, pots and window boxes.
The estate is worlds away from traffic, noise, and city congestion; however, it is conveniently located within three miles of the Ashe County Regional Airport, and within ten miles of the Blue Ridge Parkway. The nearby private airport has a 5,000-foot runway, able to accommodate private jets.
Local outdoor activities include kayaking, tubing, canoeing, hiking trails, disc golf course, ropes course, skeet shooting, horseback riding, onsite and fly fishing. The village of West Jefferson is charming; with shops, art galleries, local farmers market, and much more to explore.
Twickenham Estate includes a 10,000 square foot exquisitely appointed Old English manor style house with 19th century chimneys, fourteen bedrooms and eleven bathrooms, a beautiful terrace, and a 2,500 square foot guest house. There is a 4,000 SF banquet hall with an outdoor deck around the reception hall, and the largest fireplace in North Carolina. Our dining room accommodates 40+ diners, and alfresco dining is available.
Our historic wedding and corporate retreat venue offers numerous onsite amenities, including sauna and steam room, movie theater, library with billiards, 4 fireplaces and two fire pits. Twickenham House is a true private sanctuary, where couples and corporate guests have the estate entirely to themselves, with no other guests.
Our park-like setting includes manicured lawns with spectacular mountain views, rushing water and ponds, fern forest, gardens and streams, abundant wildlife, and magnificent settings for photographs. Our team will create memorable experiences for guests with classes and workshops, beer and wine tastings, cigar and bourbon bar, and numerous available recreational activities.
Twickenham House has a newly constructed commercial kitchen, so food preparation is onsite. We offer private dining with food prepared by an experienced chef and custom menus created for you. We offer long weekends (3 days and 4 nights) for guests to relax and wedding parties to celebrate with loved ones. We have wedding décor and place settings with seven different chargers.
